Working with Families Following Disclosures of Child Sexual Abuse/ Exploitation

This training is aimed at frontline professionals working with families once a child has disclosed sexual abuse, enabling them to feel more confident in their casework and more competent in their knowledge and skills in assessing each family’s own specific situation by:

  • Understanding the definitions of CSA/E

  • Developing an understanding of SIBs/HSB

  • Information required at referral and identifying outstanding issues

  • Exploring the nuances of who the perpetrator is and how that may impact on the support afforded the child

  • Identifying the needs of the child

  • Impact on the parents

  • Supporting the parents

  • Pursuing a complaint
